Getting started with your Trezor® hardware wallet is the first step toward owning and securing your digital assets independently. Whether you're new to crypto or a long-time user, the setup process through Trezor.io/Start® is designed to be user-friendly, secure, and quick.

Trezor® is a trusted name in the world of cryptocurrency. It provides a cold storage solution that protects your private keys offline, away from hackers and malicious software. With your Trezor® device and the proper setup, your crypto stays safe, and only you hold the keys.

Step-by-Step Guide: Setting Up via Trezor.io/Start®

1. Unbox Your Trezor®

Open the packaging and verify the holographic seal to ensure the device hasn’t been tampered with. Inside, you’ll find your Trezor® hardware wallet, USB cable, and recovery seed cards.

2. Go to Trezor.io/Start®

Plug your device into your computer using the USB cable. Then open your browser and go to Trezor.io/Start®. This is the official start point for setup and avoids phishing or fake sites. Always double-check the URL for accuracy.

3. Install Trezor Suite

Download and install Trezor Suite, the official desktop app for managing your wallet. It provides a clean interface for sending, receiving, and securing your crypto, plus real-time portfolio tracking and advanced security tools.

4. Create a New Wallet

Once your device is recognized, you’ll be prompted to create a new wallet. This will generate your private key inside the Trezor® device—never exposed to your computer or the internet.

5. Backup Your Recovery Seed

Your Trezor® will display a 12- or 24-word recovery seed. Write it down by hand on the provided recovery card and store it in a safe location. Never store it digitally. This seed is the only way to recover your funds if the device is lost or damaged.

6. Set a PIN

Choose a strong PIN to protect access to your device. This is required each time you use your Trezor®. If someone steals your wallet, the PIN acts as a protective barrier.
